Motorpsycho and Ståle Storløkken Byscenen, Trondheim, Norway 2012-03-14 Source: Giant Squid Omnidirectional mics > Battery Box w/ bass roll-off > iRiver H340 (with Rockbox) > .wav (16bit/44.1khz) > pc > Audacity (normalization, fade in/out) > CdWAV (splitting) > FLAC w/ tags. Location: Almost center, a couple of meters in front of the soundboard. Downstairs (i.e. main floor, not up on balcony). Set 1: 01. The Death Defying Unicorn (01:29:02) 02. -- encore break -- (00:02:05) 03. Cornucopia (00:07:39) 04. -- audience -- (00:00:44) 05. Gullible's Travails (00:18:02) 06. outro (00:00:35) Show notes: * First live performance of the entire "The Death Defying Unicorn"! Recording notes: * No, I did not split TDDU into its individual songs, mainly beacuse in the booklet they handed out at the show it says: "The Death Defying Unicorn is a musical fable, an epic for the open of mind and the wide of hearing. It is a piece of music deigned to be played and listened to in sequence, and will in its entirety form the first part of tonight's performance." That is the main reason. Also, it would be somewhat difficult/time-consuming to split this at the correct places. Also, I'm a bit lazy. Some might think that is stupid or wrong - and if so you are free to split/play this file in any way you want to! :) * Cornucopia is missing slightly less than 3 minutes in the middle. I badly needed a break after an emotional first experience with TDDU live! * I'm not super-pleased with the sound, so I tried to do some EQ, but I couldn't make it any better, so I decided to just normalize it before releasing it. No EQ done. If anyone wants to master this recording, feel free to contact me at abstractstar@gmail.com, and I'll give you the totally unedited recording! Or, just use this one. Anyhow, to me it sounds pretty good as it is (just not super great) - so don't worry. But in the right hands the sound could probably be improved. Remember: Not notes - sounds. Not phrases - feelings.
