Weekend trip to Paris

My wife gave me a trip to Paris as a combined Christmas and birthday present. The view from our hotel turned out to be pretty good. :-)

The Pyramid at Louvre, perhaps the world's greatest art museum.

In the reception area.

The Large Sphinx.

Venus de Milo (from circa 100 BC).

There were a lot of sculptures in these large halls.

Nice roof.

The halls were almost never ending.

As this was my birthday, we had to eat some cake!

The Winged Victory of Samothrace (aka Nike), from around 190 BC.

One of Napoleon III's rooms.

And one of his dining rooms. Pretty impressive.

Coronation crown of Louis XV (1722) and other crown jewels.

View towards Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel.

The beautiful Jardin des Tuileries (probably much better in summer, but still beautiful).

Place de la Concorde.

Lene having a rest after all the walking in Louvre.

Le Ministère de la Marine (Ministry of the Navy) on Place de la Concorde.

The Notre-Dame cathedral.

Le Palais de Justice (The Law Courts), located on the Île de la Cité.

Metro station entrance (from 1900) - Art Nouveau design by Hector Guimard.

View from on top of Galeries Lafayette.

Sacré-Coeur.

The Paris Opera.

Easter holiday in Trondheim
